Minister Ponnam Prabhakar pays tributes to deceased TGSRTC conductor

The Telangana government has promised a job and housing to the mother of the conductor who died after being pushed from a bus.

Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar paid his respects on Wednesday to G Pravalika, a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) conductor who died from injuries sustained after being pushed off a bus near Mittagudem, according to The Hindu.

The Minister, accompanied by TGSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director V Nagi Reddy, visited the Osmania General Hospital mortuary to pay tributes to the deceased. They stated that the loss of an RTC worker was deeply painful and promised the family the corporation's support.

Mr Prabhakar said the government and TGSRTC would together provide ₹10 lakh as ex gratia. The family is also expected to receive ₹1 crore in accident insurance compensation, along with an Indiramma house and a job for Pravalika’s mother.

The Minister noted that management went to the hospital immediately after the incident to ensure Pravalika received the best treatment, but she could not be saved. He said the accused was initially booked for attempt to murder, but a murder case has now been registered.

Mr Prabhakar stated that stringent action would be taken against the accused in accordance with the law.
