Telangana woman beheaded over property dispute in Mahbubnagar district
Four members of the victim's in-laws have been accused of the premeditated murder of 28-year-old K Sunitha on Monday.
A 28-year-old woman, K Sunitha, was allegedly beheaded by her in-laws over a property dispute in Telangana’s Mahbubnagar district on Monday, according to The Indian Express.
The Koilkonda police registered a murder case against Manikya Naik, Manya Naik, Pandu Naik, and Parvathy following a complaint by the victim's father, Valya Naik.
Station House Officer A Nagaraju said the attack occurred when Sunitha returned to agricultural land. He stated the in-laws used sharp-edged weapons during the assault.
The dispute involved a 1.5-acre plot of land belonging to Sunitha's husband, K Balaram. Village elders had reportedly facilitated a settlement to register the land in Sunitha's name.
Nagaraju alleged the murder was premeditated and that the accused had been plotting for months. He said the in-laws suspected Sunitha was in another relationship and feared the land would go to a new husband if she remarried.
Sunitha is survived by her husband, who is mentally ill, and two daughters aged five and two.
