UP cancels official leave to prepare for upcoming festivals
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered round-the-clock security and uninterrupted essential services ahead of Deepotsav, Diwali, Chhath and Dev Deepawali.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has cancelled leave for all government employees, ranging from state headquarters to police stations, to prepare for the upcoming festival season, according to Mint.
The Chief Minister issued these directions during a video conference on Tuesday to review law and order and administrative readiness for Deepotsav, Diwali, Chhath and Dev Deepawali.
Adityanath stated that the administration's primary responsibility is to maintain social harmony and public safety, warning that strict action will be taken against those attempting to disrupt celebrations.
He ordered the continuous monitoring of social media to prevent the spread of rumours or provocative statements and directed police to increase presence at sensitive religious sites.
For the Deepotsav in Ayodhya on November 7, officials must prioritise the safety of tourists and devotees through traffic management and route diversions.
The government has also instructed the transport department to run extra buses and the urban development department to conduct sanitation and lighting drives in residential areas.
