Class 3 student dies after collapsing in Delhi school classroom
A nine-year-old girl suffered a cardiac arrest on Wednesday morning at a school in Mayur Vihar.
A nine-year-old Class 3 student died after collapsing in her classroom at Lovely Public School in Mayur Vihar on Wednesday morning, according to ThePrint.
Police received a PCR call regarding the incident at approximately 9:52 am. School officials transported the girl to Malik Redix Health Care in Nirman Vihar, where doctors declared her brought dead.
The school principal, Dr Bhavna, said the child collapsed while standing in front of her teacher. She stated that the hospital informed the school that the girl had suffered a cardiac arrest.
CCTV footage from the classroom shows the girl attempting to approach her teacher before she suddenly fell. The footage also shows the teacher rushing to help the child and other students gathering around her.
Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the death. Officers are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to establish the exact cause of death.
Investigators are expected to record statements from the parents of the girl and relevant school authorities as part of the ongoing probe.
