BMRCL signs Rs 65 crore agreement with InMobi for station naming rights
The Ibbaluru Metro Station on the Outer Ring Road corridor will be renamed InMobi Ibbaluru Metro Station under the new deal.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with technology company InMobi on November 3 for the naming rights of the Ibbaluru Metro Station. According to The Hindu and Moneycontrol, the agreement involves a Rs 65 crore contribution towards construction costs and naming rights for the station on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) Blue Line.
The station, which is currently under construction, will be known as InMobi Ibbaluru Metro Station. It is being developed as an interchange between the Blue and Red lines and is expected to assist thousands of employees working in IT and technology firms along the ORR.
BMRCL managing director P.C. Jaffer said the partnership shows how major corporate organisations can contribute to the growth of public transport. He added that the arrangement will support metro infrastructure development and strengthen non-fare revenue initiatives.
InMobi founder and CEO Naveen Tewari said the partnership reflects the company's commitment to giving back to Bengaluru. InMobi global senior vice-president Subi Chaturvedi stated that the company aims to provide long-term value to the city through this infrastructure partnership.
BMRCL has previously entered into naming rights agreements with the Prestige Group for Bellandur station, Embassy Group for Kadubeesanahalli station, and Bagmane Group for DRDO Sports Complex station.
