Exchange stocks in focus after September quarter results

Investors are assessing growth potential across MCX, BSE, NSE, and IEX following their Q2 FY27 financial reports.

Exchange companies including Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), BSE, National Stock Exchange (NSE), and Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) reported varying performances for the September quarter of the 2026-27 financial year, according to a report by Mint.

MCX recorded the strongest performance with revenue from operations rising 113.9 per cent year-on-year to ₹800 crore. Its profit after tax (PAT) increased 130.8 per cent to ₹455 crore, while EBITDA grew 145.9 per cent to ₹664 crore.

BSE reported revenue from operations grew 34 per cent year-on-year to ₹1,433 crore, with PAT advancing 45 per cent to ₹809 crore. NSE saw revenue increase 11 per cent year-on-year to ₹4,067 crore, while its PAT rose 23 per cent to ₹2,578 crore.

IEX reported revenue increasing 10.7 per cent year-on-year to ₹203 crore and PAT rising 12.9 per cent to ₹139.2 crore. The company faces regulatory uncertainty regarding a proposed market coupling mechanism.

Seema Srivastava, Senior Research Analyst at SMC Global Securities, said MCX and BSE appear relatively attractive for growth-oriented investors, though investors should monitor trading volumes and regulatory changes.

Mahesh M Ojha, VP Research & Business Development at Kantilal Chhaganlal Securities, suggested buying NSE shares in the ₹418–₹430 range with a stop-loss below ₹390.
