Corporate lobbies and astrologers guiding Vijay government, alleges Stalin

DMK president M K Stalin claimed the current Tamil Nadu administration has discontinued several welfare schemes and is facing electricity shortages.

DMK president M K Stalin alleged that the Tamil Nadu government, led by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, is being guided by corporate interests and astrologers. Speaking at a function in Coimbatore organised by the Dravidar Kazhagam, Stalin claimed the state has regressed within five months of the TVK government taking office, according to The New Indian Express.

Stalin stated that the current regime has stopped various welfare schemes previously introduced by the DMK. He also claimed that the Chief Minister inaugurated Periyar Arivulagam on a date recommended by an astrologer.

The DMK chief raised concerns regarding electricity shortages that surfaced a month after the new government assumed charge. He alleged that the government is currently buying electricity at double the standard price.

Stalin described the administration as being marked by power cuts and violence. He noted that issues including killings, drug-related crimes, and offences against women and children have become significant problems.

The DMK president further criticised the government over the recent escape of prisoners from jails in Chennai, Coimbatore, and Theni. He also accused the administration of conducting raids at the residence of former minister K N Nehru to distract the public from its failures.
