Bengaluru Milk Union hikes prices of ghee, butter, paneer and milk

The price revision follows a recent increase in Nandini milk and curd rates by the Karnataka Milk Federation.

The Bengaluru Milk Union (BAMUL) revised the retail prices for Nandini ghee, butter, paneer, and Trupti milk, effective from November 4, according to ThePrint.

This change comes one week after the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) raised the price of Nandini milk by Rs 8 per litre and curd by Rs 14 per litre.

Under the new rates, a 200-ml sachet of Nandini ghee costs Rs 95, while 500-ml and one-litre packs are priced at Rs 425 and Rs 850 respectively. Ghee in PET jars is available for Rs 65 (50 ml), Rs 100 (100 ml), Rs 180 (200 ml), Rs 435 (500 ml), and Rs 870 (one litre).

The union has also set the price for a five-litre ghee pack at Rs 4,250. For larger quantities, a one-litre ghee tin costs Rs 870 and a 15-kg tin is priced at Rs 14,100.

Salted butter is now Rs 90 for 100 grams and Rs 380 for 500 grams, while unsalted butter costs Rs 160 for 200 grams and Rs 390 for 500 grams. A 10-gram blister pack of butter is priced at Rs 900 per kg.

Nandini paneer prices have been adjusted to Rs 115 for 200 grams, Rs 260 for 500 grams, and Rs 485 for one kg, with medium-fat paneer costing Rs 110 for 200 grams. Trupti milk is priced at Rs 11 for 135 ml and Rs 33 for 450 ml.
