Volkswagen releases first official teaser of new Virtus facelift

The teaser reveals revised styling, GT badges and new alloy wheels ahead of an expected December 2026 launch.

Volkswagen India has released the first official teaser for the upcoming Virtus facelift, providing a clearer view of the sedan's exterior, according to RushLane.

The teaser images show the updated model without camouflage, though dramatic lighting conceals some details. The front features a slim headlamp layout with LED daytime running lights and a narrow upper grille that includes a red GT badge.

The redesigned bumper has a wide lower intake with geometric detailing and appears to remove separate front fog lamps in favour of horizontal inserts. The model skips the connected LED DRL trend, instead using separate daytime running lights within the headlamps.

The exterior also includes an angular alloy wheel design, black mirror housings, and a blue paint finish. A GT badge is visible on the front fender, while the rear features split tail lamp assemblies and a boot-mounted lip spoiler.

While the cabin remains unviewed, anticipated updates include refreshed upholstery and a possible 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The vehicle is expected to use the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engines.

A reported mechanical change includes a new eight-speed torque-converter automatic for the 1.0 TSI engine, replacing the current six-speed version. The 1.5 TSI is expected to keep the seven-speed DSG.
