Three Pune students qualify for Sarabhai Younglings Internship 2026

The students cleared the national Science Promotion Orient Test to gain exposure to institutions like ISRO and HAL.

Three schoolchildren from Pune, Yaqub Bangi, Yassira Memon, and Shubham Pariyar, have secured spots in the Sarabhai Younglings Internship 2026, according to The Times of India. The students qualified by passing both rounds of the national Science Promotion Orient Test (SPOT) organised by the Vikram Sarabhai Science Foundation.

Yaqub and Yassira are students at K.C. Thackeray Vidya Niketan, while Shubham attends Epiphany High School. Through the internship, they will visit several institutions, including the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the ISTRAC centre, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the India Meteorological Department, and IIM Bangalore.

The three students are part of the Scholars programme managed by Panaah Communities, a Pune-based nonprofit. This organisation supports youth from low-income neighbourhoods through three stages: Solvers, Scholars, and Professionals.

The Scholars programme aims to assist students with high academic potential in preparing for national competitions and examinations. Panaah Communities was founded in 2021 to provide academic support and help young people transition toward higher education and employment.

Shoeb Sayed, co-founder and executive director of Panaah Communities, described the organisation's model as a continuous pathway that begins with children needing foundational help and extends to young adults entering the workforce.
