Punjab schools hold exposure visits for Class XI students

The School Education Department concluded a three-day programme to provide meritorious students with practical insights into various professional fields.

The School Education Department has completed a three-day exposure visit programme for Class XI students from all Schools of Eminence and meritorious schools in Punjab. According to The Tribune, the initiative aimed to connect classroom studies with practical experiences in industrial, administrative, and academic settings.

The programme, which concluded on Wednesday, allowed students to visit institutions related to sectors such as civil services, judiciary, medical sciences, sports, defence, engineering, banking, industry, and fashion design. Agriculture and science research were also available as additional options.

Students participated based on their interests and parental consent, with all visits taking place locally within their respective districts. The department allocated a budget of Rs 125 per student, consisting of Rs 100 for transport and Rs 25 for refreshments.

To ensure safety, the department required schools to use buses with licensed drivers and mandate one teacher for every 25 to 30 students. Female teachers were required for groups containing girls, and all teams carried first-aid kits.

Class XII students did not participate to avoid interrupting their academic schedules, which include live online classes by Physics Wallah (PW). Students who missed sessions could access them through their PW login portals.

Participating schools must now submit reports including itineraries, professional interactions, and photographs. Additionally, every student is required to submit a half-page reflection note regarding their learnings and career-related steps.
