Gold prices rise ahead of Dhanteras 2026 as experts suggest staggered buying

Domestic 24-carat gold reached Rs 1,45,011 per 10 grams on November 5, according to reports.

Gold prices saw an increase on November 5, ahead of Dhanteras on November 6, 2026. According to Prabhat Khabar, 24-carat gold reached Rs 1,45,011 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,32,830 per 10 grams. Silver was recorded at Rs 1,91,069 per kg.

The price of 24-carat gold rose by Rs 37 per 10 grams compared to the previous close, while silver increased by Rs 127 per kg, according to Prabhat Khabar. Mint reported that domestic gold prices have corrected more than 20 per cent from their 2026 peak due to factors including inflation, crude oil prices, and geopolitical uncertainty.

Market experts suggest that the recent correction offers an opportunity for long-term investors. Axis Direct stated that the decline presents a compelling opportunity for investors to add gold in a staggered manner. Senior Research Analyst Deveya Gaglani of Axis Direct recommended systematic accumulation, setting a target of Rs 1,65,000-Rs 1,80,000 per 10 grams by next Dhanteras.

Dhruv Joglekar, Assistant Fund Manager at Monarch PMS, said the correction has removed speculative excesses, making current levels attractive for long-term investors. Axis Direct expects gold could deliver returns of approximately 20-25 per cent by next Dhanteras if macroeconomic and geopolitical developments turn favourable.

Over the last five years, domestic gold prices rose from approximately Rs 47,600 per 10 grams in November 2021 to around Rs 1,42,750 in late October 2026, according to Axis Direct. This represents an absolute return of nearly 200 per cent.
