Shillong EPFO settles 40,000 claims and disburses Rs 150.55 crore
The regional office celebrated its 74th Foundation Day by announcing significant claim settlements and pension services for the 2025–26 financial year.
The Shillong Regional Office of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) settled about 40,000 claims and distributed approximately Rs 150.55 crore during the 2025–26 financial year, according to The Shillong Times.
Officials shared these figures during the 74th Foundation Day celebrations held in Shillong. During this same period, more than 4,948 pensioners received benefits through the regional office's pension services.
Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II Ashok Kumar Muduli opened the event by lighting a lamp. Muduli told the audience that the EPFO works to provide financial protection and social security to pensioners and employees.
The celebration included speeches, poetry, and musical acts by the staff and officers of the regional office.
The programme ended with a pledge from the officials and staff to offer timely, transparent, and efficient services to EPFO members and pensioners.
