Tripura showcases healthcare and digital services at national review meeting
The state aims to bring private healthcare facilities under its digital system within the next two months.
Tripura showcased its healthcare initiatives and digital services at a national review meeting in Kolkata, West Bengal, on November 5 and 6, 2026, according to ANI. The meeting focused on the Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Kiran Gitte, highlighted the achievements of the state's health facilities and outlined future action plans. G Sharath Naik, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ayushman Bharat (Tripura) and State Mission Director for the ABDM, also addressed the gathering.
The state has implemented an Integrated Health Management Information System (IHMIS), achieving 100 per cent coverage of the public healthcare sector. Tripura now aims to bring private healthcare facilities under this system within the next two months to make all hospitals digital and paperless.
The Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Agartala Civil Hospital has been paperless since its first day of operation. Patients there can access services including OPD registration, token issuance, admissions, prescriptions, medication dispensing, and laboratory testing through digital processes.
All government hospitals in Tripura are scheduled to transition to fully paperless services from November 10, eliminating manual processes. These initiatives are being implemented under the guidance of Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha.
The CEO of the National Health Authority (NHA) and the State Health Secretary have invited officials present at the meeting to visit Tripura to witness the digital health transformation firsthand.
