Bihar Education Department reshuffles 10 DEOs and 9 DPOs
The administrative changes follow the appointment of CK Anil as the Additional Chief Secretary of the department.
The Bihar Education Department carried out an administrative reshuffle on Friday, November 6, transferring 10 District Education Officers (DEOs) and nine District Programme Officers (DPOs) across the state, according to NorthBlockSouthBlock.
The transfer orders were issued after senior IAS officer CK Anil assumed charge as Additional Chief Secretary of the department. The changes cover district-level positions, the department headquarters, and the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).
Saraswati Kumari, previously at the Education Department headquarters in Patna, has been appointed as the new Patna DEO. The former Patna DEO, Yogesh Kumar, has been transferred to the BSEB.
Other changes include Rajan Kumar Giri and Deepak Kumar, who were transferred from East Champaran and Nawada DEO posts respectively to the BSEB. Raghavendra Pratap Singh moved from Siwan DEO to Assistant Director at the department headquarters, while Mukesh Kumar was appointed DEO of Bhagalpur.
Prafull Kumar Mishra, formerly Deputy Director of Secondary Education, has been appointed DEO of East Champaran. The department has directed all concerned officers to report to their new postings.
The reshuffle follows a review that reportedly identified unauthorised withdrawals of ₹34,11,56,604, of which approximately ₹29 crore has been recovered. The department is currently examining alleged irregularities in salary payments to teachers and employees.
