Investors advised to expect moderate returns in Samvat 2083

Market experts suggest a selective approach and realistic expectations amid global uncertainties and potential market volatility.

Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund expects moderate returns from equities during the upcoming Samvat 2083, according to a report by the Times of India. The fund house advised investors to focus on quality companies and maintain balanced portfolios rather than chasing short-term rallies.

The fund house noted that geopolitical tensions, fluctuations in crude oil prices, and the conservative stance of global central banks could lead to market volatility. Despite these concerns, India's domestic growth outlook remains positive, with Kotak Mutual Fund projecting a 7.1 per cent GDP growth in FY27.

Analysts at Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOSL) stated that Nifty valuations appeared attractive at 17.5 times forward earnings, which is approximately 16 per cent below the long-term average. However, small-cap stocks were noted to be trading at a 25 per cent premium to their historical average.

Market experts identified several sectors with potential opportunities, including banking, financial services, manufacturing, consumption, and digital businesses. Other mentioned sectors include healthcare devices, aerospace, auto components, and quick-commerce platforms.

For the Muhurat trading session on Sunday, experts recommended a cautious, stock-specific approach. They warned that limited liquidity during the session could increase market movements and advised against making impulsive decisions based on festive sentiment.

Regarding technical levels, the Nifty is trading around 24,600 with immediate support at 24,350 and resistance in the 24,700-24,800 range.
