South Korean actor Shin Min-a donated over $2.7 million over 15 years

The actress supported burn victims and underprivileged children while requesting that her philanthropic work remain private.

South Korean actor Shin Min-a has donated more than 3.7 billion won, roughly $2.7 million, to various causes over a 15-year period, according to a report by The Times of India. The actress, known for 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha', has provided financial aid to burn victims, vulnerable families, and children from low-income backgrounds.

A foundation representative claimed that the organisation initially thought the monthly deposits from the actor's account were errors before identifying her as the source. The representative also stated that Shin requested her contributions not be made public and asked that the funds support medical treatments for burn patients and study programmes for disadvantaged children.

The Hallym Burn Foundation reported that Shin has provided 100 million won annually to the organisation since 2015. By September 2026, her total support for the foundation reached 1.1 billion won, assisting more than 200 patients with medical and nursing costs.

Shin has also contributed to relief efforts for natural disasters, including wildfires, earthquakes, and floods, as well as support for those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. On her wedding day in December 2025, Shin and actor Kim Woo-bin donated a combined 300 million won to three organisations.

Shin previously stated her belief that good deeds should be done quietly, though she later noted that influential people speaking about charity might encourage others to help. The actor recently appeared in the Disney+ series 'The Remarried Empress', which was released on November 4, 2026.
