Health Minister UT Khader said an expert committee will be formed to create the policy and reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.
The Karnataka state government is considering the introduction of a dedicated healthcare policy for the well-being of women, according to the Deccan Herald.
Health Minister UT Khader said on Sunday in Ballari that an expert committee will be constituted to formulate the proposed policy.
Khader stated that once the policy is implemented, a separate department will be established and a deputy director will be appointed.
The minister said the policy aims to ensure the overall well-being of women and reduce the rates of infant and maternal mortality.
As part of the health department's fleet, 750 well-equipped, GPS-fitted ambulances will be inducted, Khader said.
To ease the burden on district hospitals, the government plans to provide Tele-ICU services and appoint specialists in taluk hospitals, the minister added.
