Himachal Congress to send 15,000 workers to Delhi rally

The party aims to mobilise workers for the INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan on November 1 to demand ballot paper voting.

Himachal Pradesh Congress aims to mobilise between 10,000 and 15,000 party workers for the INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on November 1, according to reports by Hindustan Times and Outlook.

Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Vinay Kumar said the party has arranged approximately 200 government and private buses, along with more than 500 other vehicles, to transport workers from the state.

The rally is being held to demand the replacement of electronic voting machines with ballot papers. Kumar alleged that the BJP has engaged in electoral malpractices and 'vote theft', claiming the party deleted 13 crore votes.

Kumar stated that the movement is a fight to protect democracy and the Constitution. He noted that participants will include women, youth, members of the NSUI, Seva Dal, and various frontal organisations.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu urged people to travel to Delhi in large numbers to ensure participation in the mass movement. He said upholding the fairness and transparency of the electoral process is a collective responsibility.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has also appealed for people to join the rally. CPI(M) state secretary Sanjay Chauhan called for the dismissal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the implementation of electoral reforms.
