Janhvi Kapoor recreates mother Sridevi's Nagina look for Halloween
The actor dressed as an ichchadhari naagin to pay tribute to her late mother's 1986 film performance.
Actor Janhvi Kapoor recreated the iconic Nagina look of her late mother, Sridevi, for Halloween, according to reports by Hindustan Times and ANI.
To match the 1986 film's character, Kapoor wore a pink and ivory ensemble by designer Nidhi Halani, along with vintage jewellery, a maang-tika, and a bindi.
The actor also recreated the film's original promotional poster and specific scenes. She received assistance from Orry, who stepped into the role originally played by Rishi Kapoor, and photographer Vaishnav Praveen, who portrayed Amrish Puri's character, Bhairo Nath.
In an Instagram caption, Kapoor described the recreation as a tribute to one of the most iconic movie moments ever. She noted that Halloween can sometimes be a tribute to favourite characters.
The 1986 fantasy thriller Nagina, directed by Harmesh Malhotra, featured Sridevi as an ichchadhari naagin. The film was the second highest grosser of that year and helped establish Sridevi as a superstar.
Sridevi passed away in Dubai on February 24, 2018, following an accidental drowning at the age of 54.
