BJP slams INDIA bloc rally as foolish drama

Union Minister JP Nadda accused Rahul Gandhi of insulting the Sikh community during the opposition protest in Delhi.

The BJP on Sunday criticised the INDIA bloc's 'Chalo Dilli' protest, calling it a foolish drama. The opposition rally in Delhi sought the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral irregularities.

Union Minister JP Nadda said the protest was a conspiracy to replace democracy with anarchy and disorder. He claimed the rally aimed to defame the country and impact the earnings of Delhi traders during the festive season.

Nadda also accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of being insensitive to the Sikh community by holding the protest on the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. He stated that Gandhi was using the day to further his own politics instead of remembering the victims.

Earlier, on Saturday, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra held a press conference at the party headquarters. Patra accused the Congress of spreading falsehoods regarding the functioning of the Election Commission of India and the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Patra further remarked that the opposition's efforts to launch Rahul Gandhi would not succeed. He also alleged that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru became Prime Minister through 'vote chori'.

The opposition's symbolic public impeachment of CEC Gyanesh Kumar took place at the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.
