Rahul Gandhi says Gyanesh Kumar will go to jail

The Leader of the Opposition accused the Chief Election Commissioner of treason during an INDIA bloc rally in Delhi.

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said on Sunday that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar would be removed from office and sent to jail. Speaking at an INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan, Gandhi accused Kumar of committing treason by stealing the voices of citizens through vote theft.

Gandhi alleged that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and various state Assembly polls were manipulated. He claimed that the addition and removal of voters had occurred in elections in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra. He further alleged that 130 million voters, representing 15 per cent of the electorate, were removed after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of protecting Gyanesh Kumar. Kharge stated that several BJP governments, including those in Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and at the Centre, were formed on stolen mandates.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee described the Special Intensive Revision as special intensive relief for the BJP and said West Bengal had been a victim. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav referred to the gathering as the Haldighati of democracy and predicted that those in power in Uttar Pradesh would be ousted.

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav said the Opposition had organised a Mahabharata for those who steal votes. Congress general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal stated on X that the scale of the uprising in Delhi had never been seen before.
