Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival to return in November 2026
The festival will feature an international music summit and a fashion competition with a total cash prize of Rs 20 lakh.
The Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival is scheduled to take place on November 20 and 21, 2026, in Shillong, according to the Free Press Journal.
The event will be held under the theme 'Year of Generations' and will feature an international lineup of artists. An International Music Summit is also set for November 19, organised in collaboration with India International Music Week.
The summit aims to bring together music industry professionals and festival promoters from around the world. The programme will include workshops, panel discussions, and interactions with artists from the Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project (MGMP).
The 2026 edition will introduce the Cherry Blossom FIT CHECK, a creative self-expression and fashion competition. This competition will offer a total cash prize of Rs 20 lakh.
Festival producer Rockski EMG said the Meghalaya government helped establish the event as a major platform for tourism and music. The festival was named Music Festival of the Year at EEMAX Global in 2025.
