Tilak Varma to lead India A in Rising Stars Asia Cup
The India A squad for the tournament in Qatar features Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
The BCCI has announced a 15-member India A squad for the upcoming Rising Stars Asia Cup, which will be held in Doha, Qatar, from November 19 to 29, according to reports by Hindustan Times, Moneycontrol and NewsX.
Tilak Varma has been named captain of the side, while Rajat Patidar will serve as vice-captain. The squad includes several players with international T20I experience, such as Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
The team also features wicketkeeper-batters Prabhsimran Singh and Kumar Kushagra, along with Shahbaz Ahmed, Suryansh Shedge, Vipraj Nigam, Harsh Dubey and Tanush Kotian. The bowling unit includes Harshit Rana, Prince Yadav and Arshad Khan.
India A is placed in Group B alongside Pakistan A, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Group A consists of Bangladesh A, Sri Lanka A, Afghanistan A and Hong Kong, China.
The two highest-ranked teams from each group will move into the semi-finals on November 26 and 27. The tournament will conclude with the final on Sunday, November 29.
India A is scheduled to play Nepal on November 20, followed by Pakistan A on November 22 and the UAE on November 24.
