Sarfaraz Khan says he lacks support in life

The middle-order batter expressed his emotions regarding his uncertain future and his reliance on his father while speaking at Brabourne stadium.

Indian middle-order batter Sarfaraz Khan said on Monday that he does not have support in life, noting that only his father has supported him. Speaking to reporters at the Brabourne stadium, the Mumbai player expressed uncertainty about his future in the national team.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Sarfaraz was included in the squad for the Test tour of Sri Lanka but did not play. He was subsequently not selected for the Test matches against New Zealand or the three India A matches held there.

Sarfaraz addressed claims regarding his ability to play in SENA conditions, stating he heard while travelling with the Indian team that selectors view him as a player for Indian conditions only. He noted that he has scored hundreds in 60 balls during intra-squad matches in South Africa and England.

The batter, who has scored 5,354 runs at an average of 63.73 in 66 first-class matches, also discussed his fitness. He said he lost 22 kilos after seeing comments on social media, though he joked that he felt he scored more heavily when he was heavier.

Sarfaraz said he continues to work hard, following the same routines he used when he started playing Ranji Trophy a decade ago. He added that his motivation is to keep playing cricket and to work hard for his father.
