Mahli Beardman to make ODI debut in Australia series against England

Australia has named several new players for the upcoming white-ball series against England starting on November 13 in Perth.

Australia has named its squads for the upcoming white-ball series against England, featuring up to eight new players for the home internationals. According to The Hawk, the series includes three ODIs and five T20Is, beginning on November 13 in Perth.

Fast bowler Mahli Beardman, batter Oliver Peake, and all-rounders Jack Edwards and Liam Scott have been included in the ODI squad. Other ODI selections include Travis Head, Matthew Renshaw, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis, and Cooper Connolly.

The T20I squad features the return of Jake Fraser-McGurk after an 18-month absence, alongside Mitch Owen. Selection chief George Bailey said the ball-striking of Fraser-McGurk and Owen could be a point of difference in shorter formats.

Wicketkeeper-batter Lachlan Shaw and Sam Harper may debut in the T20I series as Josh Inglis has been rested. The T20I leg is scheduled to conclude in Canberra on December 2.

Fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood have been rested following a Test series in South Africa. Nathan Ellis will return for the T20Is after recovering from a side strain, while Matt Short remains sidelined for five weeks following a hip procedure.
