The committee will discuss recent accidents and the high frequency of helicopter crashes reported in Uttarakhand during 2025.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture has scheduled a meeting with the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to discuss helicopter crashes, according to The Hindu.
The panel, led by Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MP Sanjay Jha, is expected to meet on November 13. The meeting follows a crash near Joshimath in Uttarakhand on Friday, October 30, 2026, which killed all six people on board, including the pilot.
Members of the committee are also set to discuss the significant number of helicopter accidents reported in Uttarakhand in 2025. During that year, the state recorded five crashes in a period of less than two months between May and June.
Sources stated that the meeting will involve discussions with aviation authorities regarding these incidents.
