NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar admitted to Pune hospital for chest pain
The 85-year-old leader is undergoing medical tests and observation at Ruby Hall Clinic following a cough.
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on Monday. The veteran leader sought medical attention after experiencing pleuritic pain and a bout of coughing, according to reports from The Times of India and The Indian Express.
Baramati MP and NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule stated on social media that Pawar is undergoing medical tests. She noted that all his health parameters remain stable.
Dr Purvez K Grant, chief cardiologist and chairman of Ruby Hall Clinic, said the leader's condition is expected to settle down. He added that Pawar will stay under observation as a precautionary measure.
Senior NCP (SP) leader Ankush Kakade said the hospital visit follows a two-day trip to drought-affected areas, suggesting exertion may have prompted the check-up. Further details regarding his health and required rest will be available after the tests are completed.
Pawar had recently visited the Solapur district on November 1 to inspect crop damage and discuss water scarcity with farmers in Tulshi village.
