Amit Shah led foot march to expose Congress misinformation, says BJP
BJP Telangana State President N. Ramchander Rao praised the turnout for the Maha Padyatra held in Hyderabad on Monday evening.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a foot march in Hyderabad on Monday evening, November 2, 2026, covering nearly two kilometres from the Babu Jagjivan Ram statue in Basheerbagh to the Mozamjahi Market junction, according to The Hindu.
The march, known as the Maha Padyatra, was conducted under the theme of protecting democracy and stopping anarchy. BJP Telangana State President N. Ramchander Rao said the event, led by Shah, aimed to reveal misinformation campaigns by the Congress and the INDIA bloc.
Mr. Rao accused the Congress and its allies of using false narratives and malicious propaganda against the Narendra Modi-led Central government and constitutional institutions. He specifically criticised their claims regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The Telangana BJP chief stated that the SIR is being conducted for the benefit of citizens. He claimed the march was necessary to expose what he described as toxic conspiracies and lies intended to mislead the public.
In a press release issued late on Monday, Mr. Rao thanked party workers and citizens for their participation. He called on BJP cadres to prepare to defend democracy against the Congress government, which he termed a tyrannical rule.
