UP Congress calls BJP padyatra a political stunt to divert attention

Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Aradhana Mishra alleged the foot march is an attempt to shield CEC Gyanesh Kumar and cover up misdeeds.

Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Aradhana Mishra said on Monday that the BJP's planned foot march across the state is an attempt to divert public attention from key issues.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Mishra described the BJP's 'Loktantra Bachao-Arajakta Hatao Padyatra' as a political stunt.

Mishra stated that the BJP is organising the event to shield CEC Gyanesh Kumar and cover up its own misdeeds.

She said the BJP is rattled by the success of the INDIA alliance's 'Save the Vote, Save the Nation' mega-rally, which featured leaders including Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress party expressed suspicion regarding alleged irregularities in the electoral rolls in Pilibhit and suggested similar issues could be occurring across the state.

Mishra said Congress workers are currently scrutinising electoral rolls in every district and the party will continue to oppose the policies of the Modi and Yogi governments.
