Corrupt opposition wants to grab power to loot Punjab, says Bhagwant Mann
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann accused the Congress, Akali Dal, and BJP of joining hands to protect their political interests.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday claimed that the Congress, the Akali Dal, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are corrupt parties working together to derail development in Punjab. Speaking at a public gathering in Ghanaur, Mann described the upcoming Assembly elections as a battle between AAP and other parties.
According to The Tribune, the Chief Minister said that while opposition parties may have different election symbols, they share the same intention of exploiting the people of Punjab.
Mann stated that traditional parties are uncomfortable because an ordinary family's son is working honestly for the welfare of society. He said these parties ruled Punjab for decades and cannot tolerate that state resources are being used for the welfare of Punjabis rather than for a few political families.
The Chief Minister accused the Akali leadership of investing in almost every business and forcibly taking shares in ventures during their tenure. He also remarked that the Congress is struggling with internal differences and that leaders frequently change political colours for convenience.
Mann noted that several leaders who were previously in the Congress have joined the BJP. He added that the people of Punjab have already demonstrated their strength by defeating leaders such as Captain Amarinder Singh, Charanjit Singh Channi, Navjot Singh Sidhu, and Bikram Singh Majithia in previous elections.
