Kiran Kumar Reddy urges Centre to support Telangana infrastructure projects

Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has proposed new national highway statuses and greenfield radial roads to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday requested support from the Central government for Telangana’s transport and infrastructure requirements. According to the Deccan Chronicle, the MP presented two major proposals to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.

The first proposal seeks national highway status for two road corridors. These include the Sangareddy–Narsapur–Toopran–Gajwel–Jagdevpur–Bhongir–Choutuppal route and the Choutuppal–Amangal–Shadnagar–Sangareddy route.

Reddy also submitted a Rs 45,000 crore proposal for 10 new greenfield radial roads. These roads would run along the metro corridor to connect the existing Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Hyderabad with the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR).

Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that the policy for declaring new national highways is currently under consultation. He noted that the proposals will be processed once the guidelines are finalised.

Reddy said he will keep pursuing these matters with the Union Government. He stated that Telangana requires improved regional links, better logistics, and contemporary road systems to maintain economic expansion.

The MP added that the state deserves prompt decisions and the necessary infrastructure investment for its future.
