Light rain and snowfall predicted for Kashmir around November 5
Meteorological Department Director Mukhtar Ahmad stated that a weak Western Disturbance is expected to bring precipitation to the region soon.
Jammu and Kashmir is expected to see light rain and snow in higher altitudes around November 5, according to Greater Kashmir.
Meteorological Department Director Mukhtar Ahmad said a weak Western Disturbance is approaching the region. He noted that while some areas may see light rain, higher reaches could experience light snowfall.
The weather is expected to stay dry after this system until November 9. A second weak to moderate Western Disturbance is predicted to arrive between November 10 and 11, potentially bringing light rain, snowfall, and isolated thundershowers.
Ahmad said some districts in the Valley and Jammu division might see light rain, while north and central Kashmir could receive light snow in higher-altitude areas. He added that no significant weather activity is currently expected.
Temperatures are decreasing and are likely to drop further as winter sets in. Ahmad also mentioned that shallow fog is appearing over the plains, which may reduce visibility in the coming weeks.
Regarding agriculture, Ahmad advised farmers to proceed with harvesting, threshing, field preparation, and fresh sowing.
