Prasidh Krishna declared fit to play in all three formats

The fast bowler cleared medical tests in Bengaluru and may join the India A squad for the unofficial Test against New Zealand A.

Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been declared fit to play in Test, ODI and T20 formats, according to reports in Bhaskar English and News18. The pacer successfully completed match simulation tests at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru on 1 and 2 November.

Krishna was injured during the second ODI against the West Indies in Guwahati on 30 September. Tests at that time revealed a hamstring injury after he managed to bowl only five overs before leaving the field.

Although cleared by the medical team, Krishna will not participate in the five-match ODI series against New Zealand starting on 4 November. The BCCI withdrew him from the ODI squad on 30 October, stating he needed more time to build up his workload.

Krishna is expected to travel to New Zealand shortly to attempt to play in the third and final unofficial Test between India A and New Zealand A. That match is scheduled to begin on 7 November.

The match simulation tests held in Bengaluru assessed how the bowler runs in, his bowling strength, and how his body responds to consecutive overs.
