Sachin Tendulkar advises Vaibhav Sooryavanshi against rushing career progress
The former cricketer suggested that the 15-year-old player should take things one step at a time in red ball cricket.
Sachin Tendulkar has advised Vaibhav Sooryavanshi not to rush his progress, stating that excessive haste could lead to trouble, according to News18 Marathi.
The advice came during a question and answer session when Tendulkar was asked about Sooryavanshi being made vice-captain at the age of 15. Tendulkar said making him vice-captain was a hasty decision and suggested that the player needs to move forward one step at a time.
Sooryavanshi, who plays first-class cricket for Bihar, has played 11 matches. He became the youngest player to win the highest run-scorer award in the 2026 season and the youngest player to debut in international cricket during a July tour.
Tendulkar noted that Sooryavanshi should be given opportunities to play red ball cricket. The former cricketer, who debuted in November 1989 at age 16, has played 664 international matches and scored 34,357 runs during his career.
Sooryavanshi will not be part of the upcoming tour.
