The company will construct a greenfield facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar involving assembly and utility infrastructure.

Tata Projects, the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) arm of the Tata Group, secured a contract on Tuesday to build a greenfield plant for an unnamed global automotive company in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, according to reports by The Economic Times, Business Standard and BusinessLine.

The project involves three main components: an assembly shop, a press and weld shop, and various utility and support buildings.

The scope of work includes architectural, civil, and structural construction, as well as utility networks and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, followed by testing and commissioning.

Rajiv Menon, President & Chief Growth & Strategy Officer at Tata Projects, said the company has partnered with a leading global automotive manufacturer to create a facility that will contribute to this journey.

Menon added that the mandate is a significant step toward increasing the firm's presence in advanced manufacturing through its integrated engineering and execution expertise.

This contract adds to the company's existing portfolio of technology-intensive projects, which includes data centres, battery plants and semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
