The Engineering, Procurement and Construction arm of the Tata Group will develop a greenfield facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Tata Projects, the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) arm of the Tata Group, secured a contract on Tuesday to build a greenfield plant for an unnamed global automotive company in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, according to The Economic Times.
The project involves three major packages, including an assembly shop, a press and weld shop, and auxiliary utility and support buildings.
The scope of work covers civil, structural, and architectural construction, as well as Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, utility networks, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
The company stated that the integrated project requires coordination across various engineering sectors to align core production spaces with supporting infrastructure.
Rajiv Menon, President & Chief Growth & Strategy Officer at Tata Projects, said the company has partnered with a leading global automotive manufacturer to create a facility that will contribute to this journey.
Menon added that the contract is a move toward expanding the firm's footprint in advanced manufacturing using its integrated engineering and execution expertise.
This project complements the company's existing portfolio in advanced manufacturing infrastructure, which includes semiconductor manufacturing facilities, battery plants, and data centres.
