Central agency restores Andhra Pradesh CM's Delhi bungalow for Rs 6.5 crore
The restoration project at the Janpath residence was completed in three and a half months by NBCC (India) Ltd.
The official residence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at 1, Janpath Road in Delhi has undergone a Rs 6.5-crore restoration, according to The Indian Express.
NBCC (India) Ltd, a central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, carried out the revamp. The agency stated on Wednesday that the upgraded home was handed over to the Chief Minister on October 22.
The project was completed in three and a half months. NBCC said the bungalow, which was built in the 1930s, had become dilapidated over time. The agency worked to reinforce the structure while preserving its architectural and heritage features.
The agency added that the bungalow now features modern interiors, sustainable net-zero concepts, and green landscaping. NBCC CMD K P Mahadevaswamy said bringing the landmark back to life in the given timeframe was a testament to the team's dedication.
Naidu performed housewarming rituals at the bungalow in July 2024 after being elected Chief Minister. The residence has been used for high-profile meetings with Union Ministers during the Chief Minister's visits to Delhi.
