Radhika Apte discusses challenges of motherhood and sleep deprivation
The actor shared how parenting has affected her ability to multitask and her experience with emotional complexities.
Actor Radhika Apte recently spoke about the difficulties of motherhood, including sleep deprivation and mental exhaustion, according to a report by the Times of India.
In a conversation with Hauterrfly, the 41-year-old actor said she used to multitask better before becoming a mother. She stated that she feels brain-fogged and can no longer handle two tasks at once, such as sending a message while answering a question.
Apte, who welcomed a daughter with her husband, British musician Benedict Taylor, in December 2024, said she manages her acting career and household duties without domestic help. She noted that she prepares all three meals herself, often opting for easier continental dishes.
The actor previously told ANI in May 2025 that she had prepared for the possibility of postpartum depression by seeking support from friends and family. While she said she felt extremely happy and did not experience severe depression, she admitted to having difficult days where she felt low.
Speaking to The Quint in September 2026, Apte also discussed experiencing guilt and complicated emotions regarding motherhood. She said she felt she was not allowed to openly express reservations about having a child at that specific time, though she clarified this did not mean she loved her daughter any less.
