Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann hands out 801 government job letters

The appointments in Mohali bring the total number of recruitments under the current government to 71,777, according to Times Now.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann handed over appointment letters to 801 newly recruited youth in Mohali on Tuesday. Describing the move as a Diwali gift, Mann said the appointments were based strictly on merit without any cash payments or recommendations.

According to reports from Times Now and Hindustan Times, these new appointments bring the total number of government jobs provided under the Mann administration to 71,777. The Chief Minister stated that his government has ensured transparent recruitment processes without bribery.

Mann alleged that previous governments allowed government jobs to be sold for lakhs of rupees through political influence and bribes. He challenged opposition leaders to provide evidence of any corruption in his government's recruitment processes.

The Chief Minister also noted that approximately 600 new roles for ancillary positions have been established in the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). He further mentioned that Punjab currently holds the top national rank in primary education.

Mann announced that an additional 600 youth will receive government jobs next week. He urged the new employees to serve the people of Punjab with honesty and dedication to help achieve his goal of a 'Rangla Punjab'.
