Gujarat forest beat guards and vanpals end agitation

Forest and environment minister Arjun Modhwadia said the employees reached an agreement with senior officials after discussing working conditions and other demands.

Forest beat guards and vanpals in Gujarat have decided to end their protest after meeting with senior officials from the forest department, according to The Times of India.

Forest and environment minister Arjun Modhwadia announced the development on Tuesday, stating that the discussions resulted in a positive outcome.

The minister said the state government is taking a sympathetic view of the demands raised by the employees regarding their working conditions and other issues.

Modhwadia noted that certain pending matters require approval from the finance department and the general administration department (GAD).

He assured that these issues would be addressed through prescribed procedures to ensure they are resolved as soon as possible.

The minister also acknowledged that the personnel work in difficult and adverse conditions to protect the state's wildlife and forest wealth.
