Indian nationals die in separate Nepal accidents

One Indian man died in a car accident in Chitwan while another was killed in a helicopter collision in Solukhumbu.

Two separate accidents in Nepal have resulted in the deaths of Indian nationals, according to reports from Deccan Herald and Mathrubhumi. In the first incident, Sayantan Gayan, a 41-year-old from Kalimpong in West Bengal, died on Wednesday after his car plunged into a stream at Jalbire Waterfall in the Chitwan district, police said.

Gayan was reportedly returning to his hotel after sightseeing when the accident occurred. Preliminary investigations suggest he was the only person in the vehicle, and police have initiated further investigations.

In a separate incident on Tuesday morning, an Indian national named Vasanth Kumar was killed when two helicopters collided in the Solukhumbu district. The collision occurred at approximately 8:11 a.m. local time as the aircraft were attempting to land at a helipad in the Pheriche area, according to the Nepal Police.

The helicopters, operated by Fishtail Air and Air Dynasty, collided mid-air. Vasanth Kumar was a passenger on the Fishtail Air helicopter, which also carried Shailesh Krishna Patel, a 49-year-old New Zealand resident of Indian origin who sustained injuries.

The pilots of both aircraft, Rabindra Prajapati and Prajwal KC, were also injured. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the mid-air collision.
