iPhone 18 could feature 120Hz display and price increase
The upcoming standard model may include an A20 chipset and 9GB of RAM according to recent reports.
Apple may expand its iPhone 18 series during the first half of 2027, according to a report by Moneycontrol. The expansion is expected to follow the September launch of the iPhone 18 Pro models and the iPhone Duo.
Tipster Digital Chat Station, posting on the Weibo platform, suggested that the standard iPhone 18 could arrive alongside the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2. Production for the handset is reportedly scheduled to begin in November.
The standard iPhone 18 is tipped to include a 6.3-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It may also feature a dual rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, Face ID, and a larger battery.
The device is expected to run on the A20 chipset, which may be manufactured using a 2nm process to improve performance and efficiency. Additionally, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e could feature 9GB of RAM to support on-device AI features.
While the tipster indicated that Apple could raise the price of the standard iPhone 18, the specific amount or scale of the hike was not mentioned. Apple has not officially confirmed the pricing, specifications, or launch timeline for the device.
