Lokesh assures government support for Nellore student to resume studies

The State Education Minister directed officials to ensure a Class X student can continue her education in SPSR Nellore district.

State Education Minister Nara Lokesh has assured government support for a student in SPSR Nellore district who had to stop her studies, according to The Hindu.

The student, a Class X student at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Kondapuram village, was taken to Hyderabad by her father to live with grandparents following her mother's death.

After the girl expressed her desire to resume her education via a video on X, Lokesh said the plea was heart-touching and directed the Collector to intervene.

Lokesh instructed the Collector to counsel the girl's father and ensure she can pursue her studies without hindrance, telling the girl to study as much as she wants.

Collector Himanshu Shukla gathered details through officials and attempted to contact the father by phone, but the man refused to speak.

Mr Shukla tried to reach the father through the girl's paternal grandmother and dispatched a special team to Hyderabad to bring the student back to Nellore.
