Telangana CM allocates Rs 5 crore for Sadar Festival
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy granted the Sadar Festival official state-festival status and highlighted the Yadav community's role in Hyderabad's growth.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced on Wednesday that the state government has allocated Rs 5 crore from public funds to organise the Sadar Festival. According to ANI, the Chief Minister also granted the festival official state-festival status during the Sadar Sammelan programme in Hyderabad.
Addressing the event, which was attended by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, Revanth Reddy highlighted the historical contribution of the Yadav community to the development of Hyderabad. He noted the community's presence in states such as Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Haryana, Delhi, and Punjab.
The Chief Minister stated that the Yadavs were among the earliest communities in Hyderabad and played a role in the city's expansion. He mentioned that the historic Golconda Fort was a Yadav fort and that Yadav kings governed the Kakatiya dynasty.
Revanth Reddy said he directed the Chief Secretary to initiate steps for official recognition after receiving representations from Shankar Yadav and other community members. He questioned why previous Chief Ministers of undivided Andhra Pradesh and Telangana had not accorded the festival state-festival status.
The Chief Minister confirmed that the Rs 5 crore allocation was made to ensure the successful organisation of the annual celebration associated with the Yadav community.
