Telangana allocates Rs 5 crore for Sadar Festival as state event
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy granted official state-festival status to the Sadar Festival during a programme in Hyderabad.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has allocated Rs 5 crore from public funds to organise the Sadar Festival, which has been granted official state-festival status, according to The News Mill.
Speaking at the Sadar Sammelan event in Hyderabad on Wednesday, the Chief Minister noted the historical role of the Yadav community in the development of the city.
The event was attended by Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and members of the Yadav community.
Revanth Reddy said he directed the Chief Secretary to take necessary measures for the official recognition following requests from Shankar Yadav and other community members.
The Chief Minister stated that the Yadav community played a pivotal role in the expansion of Hyderabad and mentioned that the historic Golconda Fort was a Yadav fort governed by Yadav kings who ruled the Kakatiya dynasty.
He also questioned why previous Chief Ministers of undivided Andhra Pradesh and Telangana had not designated the festival as an official state event.
