The 25-year-old athlete, who has cerebral palsy, finished the run in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.
Anurag Rawat, a 25-year-old athlete with cerebral palsy, completed a 10-km run in the Himalayan terrain of Uttarakhand's Chamoli district in May 2026, according to the Times of India.
Rawat participated in the Niti Extreme Ultra Run at an altitude of nearly 12,000 feet. The event was organised by the Uttarakhand Tourism Department in collaboration with the Indian Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
He finished the 10-km category in approximately one hour and 45 minutes. Rawat, who grew up in an Army family, previously aspired to join the Indian Army but was unable to do so due to his neurological condition.
The athlete, who left school after Class 8, has since focused on fitness, running, and endurance sports. He has also completed a 300-km cycling journey.
In October 2025, Rawat met Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi at the Shauryaveer Run – Run for India event held at Delhi Cantonment. The event was organised to mark the 79th Shaurya Diwas, where the Army Chief joined Rawat for a push-up challenge.
