Mumbai Police arrest three in Nagpur cyber fraud racket link to 73 cases
The arrests include an alleged mastermind involved in a share trading investment fraud scheme using a shell company.
The South Region Cyber Police of Mumbai arrested three men from Nagpur on November 2, according to The Hindu. The suspects, identified as Amit Diliprao Kale, Ritik Shailesh Dhargave, and Aniruddha Satish Uke, are allegedly linked to 73 cybercrime cases across India, including six in Mumbai.
Police stated that the group used a shell company, Grain Garden Delight Pvt Ltd, to manage funds obtained through cyber fraud. The investigation started after authorities tracked ₹24.75 lakh from a share trading investment fraud case to a current account at the Central Bank of India’s Jaripatka branch in Nagpur.
Investigators reportedly used technical analysis and data from the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCCRP) to apprehend Dhargave in Nagpur's Jaripatka area. Police alleged that Kale, the suspected mastermind, and Uke used fake rental agreements and other documents to set up the company and its bank account.
The police said Kale allegedly used a SIM card registered to Dhargave in his own mobile phone to manage fraudulent transactions and coordinate with the national network. During the operation, officials seized 25 SIM cards, 11 cheque books, 11 rubber stamps for shell companies, and various bank cards and documents.
A case has been registered at the South Region Cyber Police Station under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act. The investigation was led by Senior Police Inspector Nandkumar Gopale, Inspector Bagwan, and Assistant Police Inspector Ramdas Gopal.
