The Kochi Zonal Unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau seized 99 LSD blots during an operation named Operation Koregaon.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Kochi Zonal Unit has dismantled an interstate LSD trafficking network that operated from Goa and Bengaluru to smuggle drugs into Kerala, according to The New Indian Express.
The agency arrested three individuals, identified as Jithin Jose of Vaduthala in Ernakulam, Shamsudheen Valiyakath Kadher of Venkitangu in Thrissur, and Afsal Puthiyaveettil Mohammedali, also from Venkitangu.
Jithin Jose was taken into custody on October 31 following the seizure of 99 LSD blots weighing 2.01 grams in Ernakulam during Operation Koregaon.
Shamsudheen and Afsal were apprehended on November 1 from Goa and Bengaluru, respectively.
During questioning, Jithin Jose allegedly stated that he obtained the psychedelic drug from Shamsudheen in Koregaon, Goa, and Afsal in Indiranagar, Bengaluru.
The NCB is currently following leads to find other syndicate members and establish the network's linkages.
The agency has increased surveillance on interstate syndicates smuggling LSD and methamphetamine into Kerala as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
