The district police scored 71.92 points to earn a ‘Very Good’ grade in the assessment conducted by the State Police Headquarters. Dharwad ranked second with 70.12 points, while Bagalkot followed in third place with 68.06 points.

The dashboard-based assessment tracks 40 police units across the state using 14 indicators. The initiative, introduced under Home Minister Priyank Kharge, aims to increase transparency and accountability in police administration.

Vijayapura Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi has emphasised technology-driven policing and regular monitoring to improve efficiency. The department credited the collective efforts of its officers and personnel for the turnaround in performance.
